...nationalist and racist obsessions ...
Birgir Snæbjorn Birgisson, of Reykjavik, has painted a series of six of blonde heads, which were exhibited last year at the National Gallery of Iceland's "New Icelandic Art." It is a contemporary reflection on the chilling obsession of racial pedigree that prevailed in 1920's Germany. Birgisson will be in residence in the Berkshires during the exhibit.
